Heart Disease.
It’s the No. 1 killer of Americans, taking more lives than the next five causes of death combined. Men, women, children – everyone is vulnerable.
Stroke.
It’s the 3rd leading cause of death and the No. 1 cause of disability in Americans.
But there is Hope.
The Hope Heart Institute is a 501(c)(3) non-profit committed to serving humanity through cardiovascular research and education.
The Hope is Researching.
- At the Hope Heart Program at the Benaroya Research Institute, scientist study angiogenesis, cell and molecular biology to explore new avenues of combating heart disease.
- Cardiologists with The Hope Heart Clinical Research Program participate in trials of the latest medical breakthroughs.
The Hope is Educating.
Because much of heart disease and stroke are preventable:
- Kids Take Heart and Youth Take Heart are integrated health and science curriculums reaching students during the school day.
- Parents Take Heart and Women Take Heart are community-based programming reaching families and adults with life-saving tools for healthy hearts.
- Free risk assessment and stroke screenings provide comprehensive tools for stroke prevention.
Strong From the Start. Strong Into the Future.
World-renowned cardiac surgeon Dr. Lester Sauvage founded the institute in 1959 and pioneered innovative and prevention treatments we still use today. The Hope continues the legacy of his work with more than 60 of today’s top scientists, research coordinators, cardiologists, and educators.
The Institute is named for legendary entertainer and benefactor Bob Hope. For more information, visit www.hopeheart.org.
